About Me.

My name is Brock Brierley, and I love Games, not just playing them, but making them as well. I am passionate about programming and problem-solving in both C# and C++. Through my studies, I have experience developing games solo and within a team for PC, and Android, and have learned to thrive in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines. I am always eager to learn new things and progress my career in game development and am excited about what I can, and will, make next!

Education

2024

Advanced Diploma in

Professional Game Development - Game Programming

Academy of Interactive Entertainment - Online

The Final year of my education. It expressed much more difficult challenges and opportunities. Finishing the second half of the year with a major project following the game Design and development process from pre-production, prototyping, and pitching to full gold Release.

During this year I learned:

- VR Programming

- Shader Programming

- Multiplayer/Networking Programming

- Physics Systems and Programming

2023

Diploma in

- Screen and Media

- Information Technology (Game Programming)

Academy of Interactive Entertainment - Online

This was the first year of the AIE game Programming course where I achieved 2 diplomas. While fast-paced it was a much more thorough course for game development where I have learned so much about the industry.

Including:

- AI and Pathfinding

- Game Specific techniques, such as pooling, and behaviour trees

- Maths for games

- Advanced UI Programming in Unity

- Cross-platform Development

- Production and Production planning

2017 - 2020

Bachelor of Computer Science (Spec Game Programming)

Charles Sturt University - Bathurst

I began my University journey in early 2017 studying Computer Science (spec games programming) where I was able to achieve a GPA of 6.04 (distinction average). The course was great for computer science and programming techniques, and very Eye-opening for the career I wanted to embark on, it did, however, lack some game-specific education.

During this course, I learned many important skills these include:

- Object Orientated Programming

- Git

- Unity Engine

- Unity Programming
